Coaching Individuals and Teams

 Individual Executive Coaching

EDI consultants engage individual executives in a pragmatic, results-oriented coaching partnership, focusing on individual competencies required for continued growth.  We employ an approach that helps individuals reach full potential, by challenging them to think, act, and behave differently.

Competency assessment: The assessment activities identify and clarify desired changes to meet business and personal objectives.  Through a series of interviews and the use of an array of assessment tools, we gather information from key stakeholders, and conduct an organizational analysis that helps to understand the individual’s performance gaps. 

The second part of assessment involves helping the client to recognize development issues and clarify both strengths and weaknesses. The assessment is confidential and jointly agreed upon by the client and client company.  We often gather objective "360-degree feedback," which is summarized and delivered in a face to face meeting. Additionally, personality tests may be given and other instruments utilized to identify skills, competencies and preferences.

Developing specific goals and action plans:  Together with the client, we work to clearly state the areas for development and create an individual development plan.  The plan details new behaviors and performance changes to be achieved.  We specify the desired results as a framework for measuring the achievement, goals and objectives. .

Plan implementation:  The action plan is developed with clear measurable success objectives.  We work with the client to develop new strategies, tactics, and behaviors.  The individual is challenged to expand his or her repertoire of business behaviors, to adapt better to changing situations, to interact differently, and to produce a higher level of business results.  Follow-up meetings are conducted and feedback is continually collected to ensure that progress is made and communicated.

Monitoring results and evaluating achievement:  We meet with the client regularly to measure progress and discuss accomplishments, as well as any roadblocks and other issues discovered through the process. The performance results are compared to the original objectives and achievements recognized.  When appropriate, we work with clients to develop a long-term plan that may include additional activities in the ongoing executive development process.
